LUSH Face Masks

Skin care is one of my favorite things to talk about, as it is the base of your look.  I have tried almost every mask on the market, and somehow always go back to Lush.  Lush has so many different masks for many different skin concerns.

If you have been following along with me on Snapchat, (@katesnumberones) you’ve watched me put on each mask and give a mini review.  Below is a list of all the masks I have used from Lush and a review of each.  Some are amazing, others are okay, and there is one that I really would not recommend for anyone.

BB Seaweed

The BB Seaweed was a winner in my book.  This mask is created for exfoliating, nourishing, and smoothing.  It really does all three things.  I came out feeling like all the dead skin was gone and that I was ready to walk out onto the red carpet.  (I wish!)

Features:  seaweed, honey, rose

Looks: gray, chunky, thick, contains chunks of seaweed

Feels: thick, chunky

Smells:  very herbal with a hint of rose

Cupcake

Okay, it’s called Cupcake, how can you go wrong here?  When I first read the description, it says, “Cupcake is definitely a fixture at slumber parties for its wonderful effect on teenage skin.” It turned me away originally because I’m obviously not a teen. However, I wanted to try it because I do suffer from somewhat of adult acne.  This one definitely cleared up some of my acne spots, but it wasn’t a miracle.  I would recommend this for the girl who loves chocolate, needs her redness calmed, and her acne settled down!

Features: rhassoul mud, all kinds of mint, cocoa powder

Looks: brown, chunky, smooth

Feels: smooth, thick

Smells: CHOCOLATE, mint

Rosy Cheeks

This masks makes me so happy, mostly because it’s pink and smells like ROSE.  Rosy Cheeks is meant for the girl who needs calming and soothing.  It is supposed to gently cleanse while also calm the skin.  I really enjoy the soothing aspect, because I did see less redness after I took off the mask.  However, I have not noticed a difference in skin cleanliness.

Features: rose oil, calamine powder

Looks: pink, smooth

Feels: thick, smooth

Smells: the beautiful smell of rose (if you don’t like rose, I would not recommend) 🙂

Don’t Look at Me

I hate to say this, but I would surpass this mask all together.  Even though I loved the blue color and the smell of lemons, I didn’t see any change AT ALL.  The mask is supposed to exfoliate, tone, and brighten.  I was really looking forward to the brightening component, but didn’t see any change.

Features: lemon juice, ground rice, kaolin

Looks:  two tones of blue, grainy, smooth

Feels: smooth, thick, tiny grains

Smells: lemony

The Sacred Truth

This mask was just okay.  The Sacred Truth is made to make your skin look vibrant, moisturized, and plumped.  Afterwards, I noticed that my skin was moisturized, but not necessarily plumped or vibrant.

Features: honey, fresh papaya, wheatgrass, green tea

Looks: tan, smooth (almost liquidy looking), with chunks

Feels: smooth, chunky, thinner than most other masks

Smells: on Snapchat, I described it as a mix of bread and fruit hehe, but it really doesn’t smell bad at all

Mask of Magnaminty

And because I had to save the best for last….this mask is my all time favorite!  It deeply cleans your pores and every time I use it, I see a big difference in my skin.  My skin looks and feels deeply cleansed every time.  All the nasty stuff is gone and I always feel so refreshed and moisturized afterwards.

Features: bentone gel, kaolin clay, peppermint oil, vanilla, honey, aduki beans, primrose seeds

Looks: green, spotty

Feels: tingly, thick, chunky

Smells: minty

The bad news:  Fresh face masks from Lush can only be bought in stores.  If you do not have a store near you, unfortunately, you cannot buy them.  That part is definitely aggravating, however, I understand that they need to be fresh in order to do their job.  Check out their website and see if  you will be near a Lush store anytime soon.  Here you can stock up on all the masks you want and place them in a cooler on your way home! 🙂

The great news: Mask of Magnaminty is not considered a fresh face mask, you can order that one directly online!  You do not need to store this one in the fridge, but I do, because I love the cold tingly sensation when I put it on!

What I really love about lush is that each product has a picture of the man or woman who hand made the product!  I love the personalization and it makes me feel special.  I also love that lush doesn’t test their products on animals, in fact they fight against it!

I’ve tried a few other masks from Lush, but it’s been too long to review them.  Let me know if there are face masks out there that you love.  Thank you for reading and until next time!

Excellent review of the lush product! You put a lot of work in so that we have an easier time choosing between the one or ones that work best for us. That’s awesome! I don’t really do in home masks. but this really made me want to do an in home pampering. What got me is being able to exfoliate my skin. Xoxo
